30 Nov

The last of the independent Swiss watchmakers, Breitling, is said to be considering a sale according to a report from Bloomberg. Sources told Bloomberg that the 132-year-old company is “still in the early stages” adding that they might not actually sell itself, but rather “exploring opportunities where they exist.”

The watchmaker is presently being advised by investment bank GCA Altium. According to Bloomberg, “The most likely suitors are luxury-goods companies rather than private equity firms.” Breitling is best known for making precision made chronometers useful to aviators.
